Wicked Leeks is a digital news channel, joining the dots between food, farming & politics. Set up in 2018 to inspire and inform positive change through original journalism, Wicked Leeks is proudly and transparently published by Riverford.

Our stories aim to shine a light on the realities behind our decisions around what to eat and buy. We hope to amplify the challenges faced by the farmers and producers of your food, while advocating for transparent supply chains and a complete overhaul of our broken food systems.

The climate and biodiversity crises are happening right now and urgent action must be taken. We believe there is collective power to be found in inspiring stories and community, and, along with our readers, we are part of a growing movement of sustainable food and ethical citizens. Talking of readers, we know you are some of the most inspiring advocates of living sustainably and as such you’re a huge part of our community in the comments section, on social media and helping to spread the word in your own circles.

A note about our publishers

Wicked Leeks builds on a long tradition at Riverford of trying to find solutions to complex problems, and then sharing that information with others, even when the science is an imperfect work in progress. Through Guy’s weekly newsletters in customer veg boxes, Riverford has always challenged the status quo and been unafraid to ask hard questions. Under its founding principle to be a business that’s a force for good, an ethos of ‘doing not saying’, and a belief that good food and good farming can also be good business, Riverford publishes Wicked Leeks as a news channel that’s free to everyone.
