About us

The magazine for sustainable food and ethical business

Set up in 2018 to inspire and inform positive change through original journalism, Wicked Leeks magazine is proudly and transparently published by Riverford Organic Farmers.

Our stories aim to join the dots between the joy of food and the realities behind our decisions around what to eat and buy. From plastic to living with purpose, from enjoying a good meal to tracing the stories and challenges faced by the farmers behind your food.

The climate and biodiversity crises are happening right now across the world and change is urgent – but there is collective power to be found in inspiring stories and a sense of community, and, along with our readers, we are part of a growing movement of sustainable food and ethical citizens. Talking of readers, we know you are some of the most inspiring advocates of living sustainably and as such you’re a huge part of our community in the comments section, on social media and helping to spread the word in your own circles.

A note about our publishers

Wicked Leeks builds on a long tradition at Riverford of sharing information, pushing this out further to be more questioning, more wide ranging and seeing beyond the headlines found elsewhere.

From Guy’s weekly newsletters in the veg boxes, Riverford has always challenged the status quo and been unafraid to ask hard questions. Under its principle to be a business as a force for good, an ethos of ‘doing not saying’, and a founding belief in good food, good farming and good business, Riverford publishes Wicked Leeks as a magazine open to everyone.
