- 83% of respondents were concerned about potential long-term exposure to chemical residues in their food
- 79% of respondents have never heard of glyphosate
- 66% of respondents are outraged that glyphosate is used in the UK food system
- 70% of respondents weren’t aware that traces of weedkillers like glyphosate can remain in some food products such as bread, cereals, fruits and vegetables
- 67% of respondents would support a ban on the use of glyphosate in food production
- 70% of respondents are unlikely to eat a vegetable they knew had been sprayed with a chemical that experts have classified as “probably carcinogenic”
- 70% of people feel consumers are being kept in the dark about chemicals used in food production

- Only 1 in 10 people have ever heard of glyphosate (11%)
- 78% of respondents didn’t know glyphosate is the main ingredient in many systemic herbicide products such as Round Up
- Over half (51%) think it is unacceptable to use weedkillers like glyphosate on agricultural crops
- 75% of respondents didn’t know glyphosate could be sprayed on crops shortly before harvest
- 80% of people were shocked to learn that 28% of bread tested by PAN was found to contain traces of glyphosate
- 70% of Brits do not feel the government is doing enough to protect consumers by ensuring food sold in supermarkets is free from harmful chemicals including pesticides
- Only one in three people trust the government to put laws in place to ensure food is safe to eat
- 76% of respondents agree that farmers should receive better support to access viable alternatives to glyphosate
