Simon Fairlie’s new bookGoing to Seed is a fascinating look into the innerworkings of some of the most important environmental movements in the last 50 years.At a young age, Simon established a commune in France, was arrested multiple times for squatting and civil disobedience, and became a leading figure in protests against the government’s road building programs of the 1980s, and later in the legislative battles to help people secure access to land for low impact, sustainable living. He is the founder of The Land magazine, runs a small-holding and micro dairy in Dorset and makes money from making and selling scythes.
